Timot is a necro boss, so doubtful he has any elite warrior skills. I remember the first time I did him with my necro I had just gotten my capture signet quest and so used it on him, and got animate bone fiend, which I hadn't been able to find yet, so I'd say it was alright, but not what most people look for from a capture. Of course now you can pick which one you want.

The easiest way to do this quest is with a powerful Smiting monk, because they luuuuv fighting undead.

I went up from Gates of Kryta I think, killed everything on my way, talked to the scout that triggers the event went the few steps back, killed the executioners and Timot in one go without many problems. Done it with my lvl 16 E/N with a full compliment of henchies.

I decimated everything in my path using Meteor Shower, Fire Storm...and all the other close range nuke spells elementals have. It also helps to bring a necro along to do Putrid Explosion on dead things before Timot can make them into minions, even if you don't need the explosion because it's not close to anything else. it's a quick cast, quick recharge spell so you don't have to wait a long time to recharge, and so you don't have to wait half an hour between each kill. Other than that, keep the heat on the minions around him(usually a few skale wander by, the executioners, and Timot). If you have Necromancer as one of your professions, I might suggest getting Bone Fiend off of him if you want to, because it's a loooooong time before you get the quest for that one.

Same here, fortunately i spotted him wandering along the beach. Must have been topping up his tan.

We lucked out because he spawned on the beach. We dropped him in a few seconds

Yes, smiting monks, and mesmers are MOST important during this stage. Mesmers set up for anti-casting/buffing and Monks set up for smite is the best way to go. It's amazing that people don't understand this. The group will be dying from all these buffs and they blame the monks for not healing enough. What they need are MESMERS or PROTECTION MONKS to remove all those buffs.
Also, Smite Monks don't have to do damage themselves. They can use smite spells the same way they use healing or protection spells: They cast smite spells on allies to increase their damage output.
Combine that with the extra damage that holy damage brings and undead can't stand for long. Balthazars's Aura, Retribution, Holy Wrath, Soldier of Fourtune are all designed to make any character into a super damage dealer, especially the Monk Nuke Spells like Holy Wrath and Balthazar's Aura.
It's a shame most monks never even bother to use their smite skills

Did this with my monk and all henchies...wasn't hard at all. Monk does mostly healing and some smiting.

You don't even need to kill the executioners. If you approach from Gates of Kryta and kill everything on the way (including the skales just in front of the executioners) Lord Timot will still come out and being on horseback will travel faster than the executioners and you can ambush him on his own.
At least that approach worked for me.

I remember how I did it. I remember looking at the clearing, and seeing so. many. enemies. I decided to wait to do that. Later on, I grouped up with some people...and then I just followed them. We got to the clearing...and only 2 executioners and the boss dude was there...it was one of those quests that you did it, but it seems like it went way to fast than it was supposed to or you just weren't paying attention . Maybe I was the lucky victim of a glitch?

I just completed this with my necro and henchies from Gates of Kryta. The bog scales also use putrid explosion so need to destroy the corpses before they explode it. When I got to the Executioners, I just stood back and used Vampiric Gaze now and then. Little Thorn and Stephan got mauled and died...they were lvl 10 while the Executioners were lvl 18 and I level 15. Claude also got mauled cuz he got too close. So I exploded their corpses and that killed the stupid Executioners. Alesia revived the dead henchies just in time before Timot showed up. He was easy once all his denizens were dead.
Went on to do Orrian Excavation since it was in the same area.

My R/Mo just did this. Keep judge's insight up and the executioners take about 60 average per shot. (also fav. winds+an excellent flatbow passed down from my necro) Smiting is definately the way to go.

We started off from gates of kryta:
1)We cleared the area of mergoyles.
2)My party and i took on the blighters and executioners at the entrance.
3)Go further in and attack the mob of executioners and hellhounds, try to take them out [notice the boss coming towards your direction].
4) Eventually we all died and we found that the boss disappeared, until we saw bone fiends heading towards the gates of kryta and followed the trail of bone fiends . We found him alone right on the sand and killed him.

I killed him on the first try, just me and five henchmen. First I killed everything in the clearing you come to, then I waited until those executioners walked back down the hill into the swamp before going and luring nearby Skales from the shipwrecks out and killing them to. To be honest I had no idea which way to find what I was looking for until I saw him stalking his way up the path. Using the \ button I tabbed over to select him and saw he was the boss and lv21 at that. So back to the entrance I ran like a sissy heh... Waited until he stalked back down the hill and the executioners came back. I ran back out and took them out with fire storm and meteor shower, then ran back up to the entrance to recharge. Well back out of the swamp he starlked so I ran out to meet him, this time with the area completely clear of anything that might walk by. He stood still while attacking my group so Little Thorn and Stefan ran up to pin him in place while I cast Meteor shower on him, then Firestorm, then Imulate(sp) to set him on fire then cast fireball over and over. My hench healer kept removing any hex's and healing the party and he was dead within a short while.
